Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist as well as a businesswoman. She was co-founder of The Huffington Post, is the CEO and founder of Thrive Global as well an author of a number of novels. Arianna Huffington is an independent liberal news website and a TV host, author, and charity donor. She was born in Greece and immigrated to England when she was 16. Then, at Cambridge University, she graduated with a MA at the level of economics. She was the first student non-UK to hold the office of president of The Cambridge Union at the age of 21. Following when she graduated, she became an influential conservative syndicated journalist. A few more years after that she launched The Huffington Post which featured an unbiased critique of the politics. It was her celebrity that brought in a variety of famous contributors to post their perspectives on news, politics as well as culture. Arianna was famous in 2003 when she ran as an independent in a recall vote in California for the seat of then-Governor Davis. She also headed a Detroit energy-efficient vehicle project. In 2009, she was acclaimed by Forbes as one of the most influential female media personality, taking the 12th spot on the listing and the following year the Guardian included her in the top 100 media list. AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post, and she was named president of this media group. This was a huge acquisition that included a number of AOL products at that time, including Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. She was born to a journalist and manager Konstantinos along with his partner Elli Stasinopoulos. The couple was close to her father. It is her bond with her mother which shaped her. Even in her early childhood she displayed ability to lead that has gained a reputation. She moved to England at age 16 to complete her schooling and was accepted into Girton College Cambridge. She joined in the Cambridge Union college debate society throughout her college years as she was the third female who was elected the president. In 1972she received her master's degree in Economics. After her graduation she worked as a columnist critic, and an anchor on a TV show. Then she appeared on an edition of Face the music along with Bernard Levin and began writing books after receiving editorial advice from him.
